Facing Malaga´s Airport Terminal 3,it will be part of the metropolitan area and it will be inside the most important Andalusian production triangle. Furthermore, it will be completely included in the infrastructure and transport network and this will contribute in it becoming one of the most significant logistic centres in Spain.
The International Airport Malaga- Costa del Sol has experienced a great growth and expansion in the last years, increasing the number of passengers and long-lasting its developmentpath year after year.
Currently, it holds 65 companies connecting 125 different destinations. Especially prominent are the diary connections with 20 Spanish cities and more than 100 European cities, mainly with the United Kingdom, Central Europe and the Nordic countries. But also with the main cities of East Europe: Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Sophia, Warsaw, Riga or Bucharest; the North of Africa and the Middle East: Riad, Yida and Kuwait; and North America: New York, Toronto and Montreal. This wide range has made of Malaga´s Airport the main infrastructure of the region and the fourth in Spain in terms of passenger´s volume, with more than 12.5 million in 2012.
Therefore it becomes a main door to Andalusia and Costa del Sol as it has the 70% of passenger’s traffic of Andalusia´s airports.
